Random Act of Kindness Week

Starting from Monday 18th January until Friday 22nd January we will be taking part in Random Act of Kindness Week.

This fantastic initiative is about stepping out of your comfort zone and attempting a new random act of kindness each day of the celebratory week. This in not just for students or staff but we want all the community to help celebrate!

We have some great ideas on how you can contribute as students and as a member of the community:

  • Lunch with new friends (find someone by themselves and invite them to join you)
  • Open doors and hold doors open for others
  • Smile at every person you see (This will be a DHS target Friday 22nd)
  • Say something positive and nice to everyone you see (especially those you don't know)
  • Write a thank you note to someone that has influenced you at school (Keep it anonymous, post it in the delivery box in Hatfield house base)
  • Let someone cut in front of you in the queue

  • Food bank - Bring in something from your house (no fresh food please) to donate to the local community. Please leave the food in the boxes located in Reception
  • Litter Pick (If you see some on the floor even if it's not yours, pick it up – This will be a DHS target Friday 22nd)
  • Spare change (During the week leave any loose change with tutors to be donated to Dementia Friends)
  • Give someone you love an unexpected HUG
  • Compliment at least 5 people in one day (It's harder than you think)
  • Visiting parents – Please come and complete a 'Tag thanks for a teacher' (Found in main reception)

We challenge you to become a #DinnoRAKtivist!!

UCAS Information Event

The school would like to bring to your attention that on Wednesday 20th January at 6pm there will be a UCAS Information Event in the Main Hall.

This fantastic event is a great opportunity for parents of Y13 students who have applied for university to receive important information on the UCAS process and on Student Finance.

The event will provide guidance and support on the next steps the students will take as well as essential information on Student Finance. Local universities will hopefully be there to answer questions too.

Please let us know if you can attend by Monday 18th January via your son/daughter or by telephoning the 6th form office. Alternatively you can confirm your attendance by emailing

We look forward to seeing you!
