Results Day 2014

Y13 Results – Given out at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday 14th August 2014

Y12 Results – Given out at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday 14th August 2014

Y11 Results – Given out at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday 21st August 2014

All results will be given out in Athorpe Housebase.

Every student will see an allocated member of staff on the day so they receive the best advice, information and guidance in making decisions about their future.

Learn to Ride a Bike

For children who are still on stabilisers, who have balance problems, or who just cannot ride a bike, attend a Learn 2 Ride session this summer, free of charge at Dinnington Comprehensive. National Day of Action – Thursday 10th July 2014

You will be aware from the national news that the NUT (teachers' union) and the public service unions, GMB, UNISON and UNITE have all voted in favour of a national strike day next week on Thursday 10th July 2014.  This action is not against the school itself, but is part of a national strategy by these unions to draw attention to their dispute with the government with regards to pay and conditions, pensions and public services.  A significant number of staff will be taking action and although it will cause disruption to the day and a change to the planned curriculum, it is still possible for the school to remain open for students who have just moved up to Years 7, 8, 9 and 13.  However students in Years 10 and 11 will need to remain at home.    

This will allow us to ensure the safety of those students in school.  The catering service is not affected and so the normal arrangements at lunch time will operate, ie students can bring a packed lunch or buy food from the House Bases.  Obviously, if the dispute is resolved before Thursday and the strike called off, the school will open for all year groups as normal.  

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding in this manner, we are acutely aware of the difficulties this causes you.

Ofsted Result

New DCS Website

Welcome to the new DCS website.  Here you can find lots of information relating to the school. ​Keep an eye out on the site in the coming weeks and months for more useful information about our school.  This will also be the login page that parents, staff and students alike use to access the online services offered by DCS.  We will be asking for feedback on the new site once established to help us tailor the content of the site to meet the needs of the community and prospective parents.
