Moving to big school scary? Not at Dinnington Comprehensive.
Parents of New Year 7 students at Dinnington Comprehensive School have overwhelmingly expressed their pleasure at how their child’s transition to secondary school has been handled. Settling in meetings held with parents of new students this October found that Just about all parents who attended were pleased with the transition process that had been in place and reported their children enjoyed their new school.

Dont just take our word for it
Our daughter has been very happy in her first year at Dinnington Comprehensive school. It was clear from the begining the school and staff where interested in their pupils learning and wellfare by inviting parents to meet with the head teachers.
At these meetings information between teachers and parents was shared so the settling in period was made positve and hassel free.
During the term time our daughter was encouraged to work hard and collect merit points which in turn gave her the opportunity to take part in reward trips. This gave her the drive to attend school, work hard in lessons and take part in the many extra activities available.
The teaching staff are always willing to give their support to all the pupils during class and with extra activities out of school which change through out the year.Teachers will reward pupils for their efforts by recommending them for 'Governor Awards', which are given to the pupils by the governors at the award presentation in front of their family and friends at the end of each term. It was amazing to see pupils receiving not only one award but seven.
The school is keen to show pupils talents with presentation like 'Gym and Dance' and 'We will rock you'. It was clear that everyone enjoyed themselves and did not want it to end but to start work on the next event.
Our daughter was buzzing with enthusiasum all year and did not want school to stop for the summer and is looking forward next term. She has made lots of new friends amongest pupils and teachers and the fear we had of her not settling in was dispelled.
Mr Blackwell Head Teacher at Dinnington Comprehensive has a infectsous enthusiasum this is shown with the improvements shown in all areas over the last few years.

Chris
